Johan-Hilel Hamel

Deputy Director of the French Institute of Rwanda since 2021, an institution focused on emerging artists from Rwanda. He signed a three-year agreement with Chaillot-Théatre national de la danse, and contributed to Rwanda being the guest country of honor at the 15th edition of the Angoulême Francophone Film Festival, in 2022. He was director of cultural affairs of the Greater Angoulême conurbation (2015-2021), worked for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tunisia and Algeria, and directed a theater, the Château, in Charentes (2010-2015). He created the Festival “Young Algeria, contemporary Algerian creation” in 2009 in Bordeaux. He is also the author of a literary anthology of swimming, “Nageurs des siècles” (Editions Marguerite Waknine).
